Universal Description, Discovery and Integration (UDDI)
UDDI is intended to eventually serve as a means of "discovering"
Web Services
described using
WSDL.
The intention being that the UDDI directory (or registry) can
be searched in various ways to obtain the Web Sevices available
from various organizations. To what extent "discovery" will be
used in the early days of Web Services is not known.
Unix is an operating system developed by Bell Laboratories which
features multiprogramming in a multi-user environment. Unix was
originally developed for use on minicomputers but has been adapted
for mainframes and microcomputers.
